Vision and Values

Our Vision - The Best we can Be

At Beckington Church of England First School, our vision is to create a safe, caring and aspirational learning community, inspired by our Christian values, where we thrive through challenge, fun, friendship and belonging, enabling us all to be the best we can be. We want every child to flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

Through high expectations, strong relationships and a broad and engaging curriculum, we nurture confident learners who are ready to make a positive contribution to the world around them. Our vision is rooted in the Christian belief that every child is unique, valued and loved. We strive to ensure that all members of our community feel a sense of belonging, develop a love of learning and are encouraged to achieve their very best.

The Parable of the Lost Sheep

Our vision is inspired by Jesus' Parable of the Lost Sheep (Luke 15:4).

Jesus told a story about a shepherd who had one hundred sheep. When one sheep wandered away, the shepherd did not forget about it or leave it behind. Instead, the shepherd left the ninety-nine safe sheep and went searching until the lost sheep was found.

When the shepherd found the sheep, he was filled with joy. He carefully carried it home and celebrated because the sheep was safe again.

Jesus told this story to show that everyone matters. Nobody is too small, unimportant or different to be cared for. Just as the shepherd looked for the lost sheep, we believe that every child is valued, known and loved.

At Beckington Church of England First School, this reminds us that every child belongs, every child is important and every child deserves the opportunity to flourish. We work together to create a community where children feel safe, supported and encouraged to be the best they can be.
